‘Extremely rare’ fawn at Bristol zoo makes its debut appearance

This new born fawn is extremely rare, with fewer than 700 of the species left in the wild.

The male Philippine spotted deer has been welcomed by visitors at the Bristol Zoo Project.

When parents Eugene and Pandora first arrived in the city, keepers hoped they would breed and are delighted for the first time parents, who will “help to safeguard its future”.

The yet-unnamed fawn is just over a week old.
