A man has been charged with dangerous driving following a hit-and-run incident and a police chase in Belfast.

The 38-year-old is facing a number of other charges, including failing to stop following an accident, not having insurance, and fraudulent use of registration mark.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court later on Tuesday.

A second man, 40, who was also arrested has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The charges follow a police pursuit of a vehicle which started in the area of Broadway on Monday.

The chase covered various areas of both west and north Belfast.

A number of vehicles were damaged in the Westlink, Crumlin Road and Ballysillan Road areas during the course of the pursuit.
