Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann gave modest boost to Belfast hotels

The All Ireland Fleadh gave the Belfast hotel market a modest boost during August, initial survey data suggests.

Official figures show that 189,000 hotel beds were sold in the city, up almost 4% compared with 182,000 bed sales in August 2025.

Room occupancy rates in the city were up by two percentage points year-on-year, from 83% to 85%.

The Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann ran from 2 to 9 August – it was the first time the event had been held in Belfast.

In Northern Ireland as a whole, just under 470,000 beds were sold in August, compared with 447,000 in 2025, an increase of 5%.

People visiting Belfast for the Fleadh were not just staying in hotels.

Self-catering and student accommodation was used as well as a dedicated campsite.
