Walta’s 19-minute cameo against the Owls was not his first appearance on these shores.
In September 2024, he made another substitute appearance in Finland’s 2-0 defeat by England at Wembley in the Nations League.
That was one of 10 caps so far for Walta, who describes former Finland team-mate Teemu Pukki – who retired from international duty in November – as a role model.
Striker Pukki, 35, spent five successful years in English football with Norwich City, scoring 89 goals for Swansea’s Championship rivals.
“How he did in this league and also in the Premier League was special,” Walta said.
“He’s such a nice guy as well outside the pitch. He even congratulated me for the move here, so that’s nice.”
