Rail passengers in Cumbria and the North East have been facing disruption to their journeys as a result of a landslip and a derailment.
Disruption is continuing between Carlisle and Oxenholme Lake District due to a derailment near Shap on Wednesday.
Avanti West Coast, which operates the impacted line between Preston and Glasgow and Edinburgh, said services north of Preston were cancelled on Thursday.
Elsewhere, Northern said buses were replacing trains between Newcastle and Hexham and Carlisle, due to a landslip in the Corbridge area.
