A 37-year-old missing woman died as the result of a stab wound to the neck and upper chest, an inquest has heard.

Paria Veisi, from Cathays, Cardiff, was last seen on 12 April before South Wales Police confirmed her body was found in the garden of her estranged husband’s home in Penylan, Cardiff, a week later, the inquest heard.

Alireza Askari, 41, from Penylan, and Maryam Delvary, 48, from White City Estate, London, have been charged in connection with Ms Veisi’s death and will appear at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday.

At Pontypridd Coroner’s Court on Thursday, coroner Patricia Morgan described Ms Veisi’s death as “violent in nature”.

Mr Askari has been charged with murder, preventing lawful and decent burial of a dead body and assaulting a person occasioning them actual bodily harm.

Ms Delavary has been charged with preventing a lawful and decent burial of a dead body and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

The inquest was adjourned until the conclusion of criminal proceedings.
