Man arrested over Edinburgh bin lorry crash death

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal bin lorry crash in Edinburgh.

Thomas Wong, 11, was riding his bike when he was involved in a collision with the vehicle on Whitehouse Road at about 08:20 on 1 March.

Police Scotland said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers said inquiries to establish the full circumstances were continuing.

In a statement released at the time of the incident, Thomas’ family said they were “utterly heartbroken” by his death.
