Bevan French: Wigan Warriors full-back out for four months with hamstring tear

Wigan Warriors full-back Bevan French will be out for around four months having torn his hamstring.

French underwent a scan following the injury, which occurred late in their victory against Toulouse on Saturday.

The Super League leaders have confirmed he will now be on the sidelines for 16 weeks, ruling him out for much of the season.

It is the second loss at full-back the Warriors have sustained after Jai Field was ruled out due to appendicitis last week.

Field will be missing for four to five weeks, with 20-year-old Noah Hodkinson the remaining full-back in their squad.

Hodkinson is yet to make a full senior appearance for Wigan, but has previously had spells on loan with Widnes last season and Salford this term.
