Residents praised the island for its coastline and community – and claimed it was sunnier than elsewhere in Wales.
Property website Rightmove quizzed almost 20,000 people across the UK for its 2025 survey.
In England, Skipton in Yorkshire topped the poll, while in Scotland the cheeriest are apparently in Stirling.
Ann Evans Jones, director of Anglesey estate agency Morgan Evans, said: “Anglesey is a beautiful setting and has so much to offer, including stunning coastal walks, beautiful beaches for relaxing and water activities.
“A lovely area to raise a family, with a strong feeling of community on the island with villages being very welcoming.”

Justin Miers, from Menai Bridge, said: “It’s gorgeous. I love the natural world and the coastline.
“I walk over the bridge twice a day and look at the view, and think how lucky I am to live here.”
Phyllis Williams, from Llanfwrog, highlighted the weather and the people.
“It’s always sunnier here than the rest of Wales, and there’s a strong sense of community here.”
Her friend, Margaret Williams agreed, adding: “Many of the villages and towns are really close-knit communities where people still look out for each other.”

Magdalena Kuc, from Brynsiencyn, said: “It’s long been a very spiritual place, its ancient sacred sites have an incredible history.”
Her son, Nathaniel, said everything about living on Anglesey made him happy.
“The natural world is a big part of life here, this is where the mountains meet the sea,” he added.

Rachel Hutchinson, from Menai Bridge, said: “People here are very friendly, and there’s a spiritual energy here, a real feeling of calm.
“But it’s well connected, so if you do want to be anywhere in a hurry, you only ever seem to be 20 minutes from almost anything.”
