Women’s health prioritised, but there are ‘darker corners’ in NHS – Atkins

Victoria Atkins has defended her performance as health secretary, saying she had “prioritised women’s health”.

But she also admitted there were some “darker corners” of the NHS where a light needed to be shone.

The health secretary told Laura Kuenssberg the rate of neonatal deaths and stillbirths was declining, and that the government was investing in more midwives and training for neonatal resuscitation.
