Will TikTok soon disappear from the US?

Social media company TikTok is facing a ban in the US unless it is sold by its parent Chinese parent company ByteDance by 19 January.

The Supreme Court, which is the highest judicial authority in the US, has heard a final plea by TikTok for the ban to be overturned.

President-elect Donald Trump – who takes office on 20 January – has asked the Supreme Court to delay the ban to enable him to find a “political” solution.

US officials and lawmakers have accused ByteDance of having links to the Chinese government.

BBC Wales’ Erin Lister explains what this all means.
