When Andy Murray was a 14-year-old star of the future

Sir Andy Murray’s career has come to an end as he bowed out in the men’s doubles on day six of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Murray has been hailed as Scotland’s “greatest ever sportsman”, having won Wimbledon twice, the US Open in 2012 and two Olympic gold medals.

But back in 2001 he was the “bright star” of the future when he was just 14 and aiming for Wimbledon success.

Mum Judy was also on hand back then and said she believed “anything is possible” when it came to Scotland producing a tennis star.
