Over 1,500 Caernarfon fans were among the crowd of 2,224 that were at the final.

Davies paid tribute to the “unbelievable” support which had lined the streets outside Rodney Parade when the team coach arrived at the stadium.

“There were hundreds each side of the street with the flares and I had goosepimples and the hair on the back of my neck going up,” he said.

“As a player it’s so inspirational and it makes you want to give something back.

“We’re all in it together and the fans are unbelievable – it’s their club. Without them the club is nothing.

“Going to the Oval is probably like going to church for some people,

“It just means so much and it bring so many people joy who enjoy coming to watch the football team.

“It connects a lot of people and it was unbelievable to do that yesterday.”

Victory means Caernarfon have secured a place in Europe for the second time in three seasons, something Davies has called a “golden ticket”.

“Off the back of that we get to go on an European tour again, which we had a bit of fun last time,” he said.

“A lot of people are excited about that as well.”
