Wales’ first minister defends record after no-confidence vote

An emotional Vaughan Gething has defended his record after losing a no-confidence vote in the Senedd.

In total 29 members voted in favour of the resolution, while 27 voted against.

He insisted afterwards he would not resign, telling reporters: “I’m going to carry on doing my duty.”

“I have always acted with integrity, to have people stand up in the Senedd chamber and have people make statements they know are simply not true is not how politics should be done,” he said.
