Two children seriously injured after being hit by car

Two children have been seriously injured after being struck by a car in Penicuik on Sunday afternoon.

The 11-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl were walking with a 12-year-old girl around 15:20 when they collided with a a Volkswagen T-Cross on the town’s Bog Road.

Both the 11-year-old and the 13-year-old were taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Edinburgh, where medical staff confirmed their injuries as serious, while the 12-year-old girl was uninjured.

Police Scotland said it was working to “establish the full circumstances of this collision.”
