Traffic Scotland posted a CCTV grab of the lorry on social media

Drivers are facing severe disruption after a lorry spilled a “shed load of wood” onto the M8 in Glasgow.

Police Scotland said the incident happened close to the Plantation interchange, where the M8 meets the M77, at about 17:30.

The M8 at junction 22 is closed eastbound and partially closed westbound, while the M77 is closed northbound with traffic leaving at junction 1.

A force spokesperson advised motorists to avoid the area.
