The New Saints ‘can’t afford’ to play another way – Craig Harrison

“What we don’t want to do is invite pressure from the first minute until the last.

“Obviously there will be large spells you can deal with. But we can’t just rely on going out there and defending to keep a clean sheet.

“We’ll try and score goals because I think if we get one or maybe two goals then the tie’s over.”

First-half goals from Dan Davies and a brace from Young secured the first leg win for Saints.

“Two fantastic crosses and two fantastic headers,” Harrison said of former Aston Villa forward Young’s goals.

“We’ve had two or three other opportunities and maybe 4-0 would make it a real tough game for them to come back into.

“But if someone had [told me] the way the game went and the result that we got… if I’m not happy with that then I need a kick up my backside.”
