SpaceX launches rocket with crew to relieve stranded astronauts

SpaceX has launched Nasa’s Crew-10 mission, with a rocket sending four astronauts to the International Space Station from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The long-awaited crew of US, Japanese and Russian astronauts is expected to arrive to the station on Saturday night and will relieve Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams.

This is the second attempt to launch the rocket after an earlier attempt was called off after a critical hydraulic system on ground failed shortly before launch.

Wilmore and Williams have had an extended stay aboard the ISS after Boeing’s new Starliner capsule meant to return them to Earth encountered breakdowns.
