Saving Livingston would be career high for manager Marvin Bartley

“At Bournemouth we started on minus 17 and still survived. That took some doing.

“We didn’t really care about the league table – it was just the next game. There’s no point looking when you’re so far behind.”

Despite the prospect of relegation this weekend, Bartley insists his attention is fixed solely on Friday’s fixture against an Aberdeen side who have won their past two games.

He acknowledged the impact of the visitors new manager Stephen Robinson, noting tactical changes and improved attacking movement.

“He’s put his own stamp on the team. They’ve got really good players and they’re in a good place,” he said.

While four wins from Livingston’s remaining matches could yet offer a route to safety, Bartley admits he is not calculating potential outcomes.

“No idea if that would be enough,” he added. “All we can do is try to win the next game.”

Meanwhile, midfielder Macauley Tait said last weekend’s victory has lifted spirits around the club amid a challenging campaign.

“It was nice,” he said. “We’d almost forgotten that feeling. It’s been tough for us, the staff and the fans, so hopefully we can finish on a positive.”
