Rowley Regis: Tributes to ‘bright’ girl, 10, in murder inquiry

Tributes have been paid to a “bright and fun-loving” girl who was found dead at a house.

Shay Kang, aged 10, was discovered with injuries at an address in Robin Close, Rowley Regis, West Midlands, at about 12:10 GMT on Monday, police said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 33-year-old woman, understood to be known to the girl, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in custody, the force added.

The 10-year-old attended the nearby Brickhouse Primary School.

“Our school is deeply saddened by the tragic death of one of our children,” the school said in a statement.

“Shay was a bright, happy, fun-loving child who was well liked by all, and she will be very sadly missed by everyone.”
