Hull KR second-rower Rhyse Martin will undergo surgery on a thigh injury and faces four months on the sidelines.

Martin sustained the injury early on in Hull KR’s 42-0 thrashing of Salford Red Devils last week.

The Robins confirmed their Papua New Guinea international will have an operation later this week and estimated a recovery time of four months.

It means the 32-year-old, who signed a two-year deal last August, will be out for the majority of the Super League season.

Martin will be a miss with the boot as well having kicked five goals for the Robins in three league outings.

Hull KR have won all three Super League matches this season and are second in the table.
