Pulp star leaves treats in Sheffield park in memory of beloved dog

The gesture was praised by people online after Mr Banks posted a photo on social media.

He said as a nation of dog lovers, it had “touched a lot of hearts”, with people reminiscing about their pets from years ago.

Geoff was described as a “uniquely-looking dog, lovely temperament, and wanted to be friends with everyone”.

Mr Banks wanted to thank people who they had met while walking in the park.

He said: “Geoff would go to anyone with a vague smell of treats.

“He had about six dog walkers who he would demand them from.

“He would go over and sit down and say, ‘I’m ready’.

“He had loads of treats off loads of folks.

“We all think they’re immortal, but sadly they’re not.”
