Peter Kay postpones Nottingham gigs after ‘routine kidney stone procedure’

Comedian Peter Kay has postponed two upcoming shows in Nottingham due to a “routine kidney procedure”.

The 52-year-old was scheduled to perform at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena on Sunday and Monday 6 October.

A statement from SJM Concerts, which was shared by Kay on his social media accounts on Monday, said the decision had been made “following medical advice”.

The announcement added: “Peter will be taking a period of time to rest and recover.”

The Phoenix Nights and Car Share star’s shows have been rescheduled to Thursday 11 December and Friday 12 December respectively.

People who had tickets have been told that all tickets remain valid for the new dates, and refunds will be available for anyone unable to attend.

The statement said: “We regret to inform you that due to a routine kidney stone procedure, Peter will be unable to perform his scheduled shows at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena.

“We thank you for your patience and understanding.”

Kay returned to performing stand-up comedy after a 12-year break when he announced his Better Late than Never tour in November 2022.
