Pedestrian who died after Johnstone car crash named as John Allan

A pedestrian who died in hospital days after being hit by a car has been named as John Allan, 85.

Mr Allan was hit by a red Toyota Corolla on Beith Road, Johnstone, Renfrewshire, at about 08:30 on Sunday.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, but Police Scotland said he died two days later on New Year’s Eve.

The driver of the car was not injured.
