Pair charged with murder over body found in Peterborough bungalow

Two men have been charged with murder after a man was found dead in a bungalow following a fire.

Zbigniew Wasiak was found in Wootton Avenue in Fletton, Peterborough, after emergency crews were called at about 03:30 BST on Sunday.

A post-mortem examination on Wednesday found that the 59-year-old died from a single stab wound to his neck.

Michal Pluciennik, 35, of no fixed abode, and Wojcieck Piaseczny, 35, of Pilton Close, have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

A 29-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man, both from Peterborough, were arrested on suspicion of murder and later released on bail until 5 November and 3 December respectively.

Cambridgeshire Police said they were still appealing for information and doorbell or dashcam footage.
