Police said emergency services were called to the crash near Inverewe on Thursday afternoon

A 59-year-old man has died after his motorbike was involved in a collision with a campervan in Wester Ross.

Police said emergency services were called to the A832 between Inverewe and Tournaig, north of Poolewe, at about 15:10 on Thursday.

The crash involved a white Triumph Tiger motorcycle and silver Ford Transit campervan.

The A832 is on the North Coast 500, a popular tourist route that follows roads around the north Highland coast.

Police Scotland has appealed for information.

Sgt Ewan Calder said: “Our inquiries are continuing to understand the full circumstances of what happened. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the motorcyclist who died.”

He added: “I want to thank members of the public for their patience while we investigated this serious crash.”
