Omagh assault victim may require reconstructive surgery

A man has sustained serious facial injuries during an assault in Omagh which may require reconstructive surgery, police have said.

The victim, who is 46, was attacked close to the bus depot on Mountjoy Road in the County Tyrone town after arguing with a man he did not know who had asked for a lift

The victim was assaulted and then kicked while he was on the ground during the early hours of Sunday.

Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident, which happened sometime between 01:00 and 02:00 GMT, to contact them.
