Ollie Cooper: Swansea City to discuss Wales midfielder’s future – Vitor Matos

“He trains every day with the same behaviour, with the same passion, and that holds all my respect.

“Of course we need to speak about his future and we need to see what is the best for him and best for the club, but that is something to take care of inside of the club.”

Cooper has made 118 appearances for Swansea and scored nine goals after coming through the club’s academy.

After an impressive loan spell at Newport County in 2021-22, he returned to establish himself as a senior Swansea player under Russell Martin and was handed a Wales debut by Rob Page in March 2023.

He has also featured for Craig Bellamy’s Wales, but has lost his international place on the back of struggles at club level.

Cooper has not started a league game for Swansea since the defeat at Stoke in February 2025 that marked the end of Luke Williams’ spell in charge of the Welsh club.
