The man received treatment from officers within the station, police said

A man turned up at a police station with a stab wound, prompting an investigation.

Leicestershire Police said the man, aged in his 20s, arrived at the Market Harborough station’s car park in a Land Rover Defender just after 20:00 BST on Saturday.

He received treatment from officers within the station before being taken to hospital with serious injuries, the force added.

No arrests have been made but an investigation to establish the circumstances of the stabbing is under way with police appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Det Sgt Vicki Hudson, from the force’s complex investigation team, said: “Our enquiries are continuing today and I believe there are people who can provide information that can help.

“We believe this is an isolated incident but I’d urge anyone who has information about it and has not yet contacted police to do so.

“Anything you can tell us, no matter how insignificant you think it might be, could be important.”
