Man in hospital after being ‘shot to the chest by air rifle’

A man has been taken to hospital after being “shot to the chest by an air rifle” in Plymouth, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the incident happened on North Hill at about 05:45 GMT on Tuesday.

A force spokesperson said armed response units had been sent to the scene, which was closed off to the public.

The victim has been taken to hospital but his injuries are not considered life-threatening or life-changing, the spokesperson added.
