Man charged with manslaughter after Willington pub death

A man has been charged with manslaughter after another man died on Christmas Eve.

The man was found unconscious inside The Queen’s Head pub, in Willington, County Durham, at about 16:45 GMT. Paramedics treated him but he died at the scene.

Martin Ian Greensmith, 36, of Crook, was arrested on Christmas Day and later charged with manslaughter. He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

Durham Police said inquiries were ongoing and asked anyone with information to come forward.
