The man who died has been named as Scott Boyd

A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of another man in a village in South Lanarkshire.

Police were called to a report of two injured men in the Braeside Crescent area of Kirkmuirhill, near Lanark, at about 04:45 on Wednesday, 27 August.

Scott Boyd, 30 was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man was taken to University Hospital Wishaw for treatment but has since been released.

The man is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
