M1 closed in Leicestershire after lorry crash causes fire

The M1 has been closed in both directions in Leicestershire after a crash involving two lorries resulted in a fire.

Police were called to reports of a crash on the southbound carriageway, near junction 20 at Lutterworth, shortly before 05:30 GMT on Monday.

Leicestershire Police said the road was closed between junctions 20 and 21 while firefighters tackled the blaze.

The force said no one was injured in the crash and advised drivers to avoid the area while the incident was dealt with.
