Exeter lock Lewis Pearson has signed a new deal with the Prem club.

The 26-year-old has played 65 times for the Chiefs since his debut in 2018 and has established himself as one of the mainstays of the pack this season.

The academy graduate played in the Premiership Rugby Cup final last season and was part of the Exeter side that played in the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup two years ago.

He has been Exeter’s captain in their cup competitions this season, scoring four tries.

“He is a local guy who, having come through the academy, has already had a relatively long career with us,” Exeter director of rugby Rob Baxter told the club website., external

“He’s played a lot of rugby for us, has captained the side at times, and we think he’s one of those guys who is great to have around the squad.

“He’s a good player who is continually improving. I think he’s getting more and more right in his game and in his preparation. I think we’re going to see better rugby from him going forward, which is one of the most pleasing things.”
