League One: Birmingham City and Wrexham fined by Football Association

Birmingham City and Wrexham have each been fined by the Football Association (FA) following their League One game earlier this month.

All 20 outfield players were involved in a melee after Birmingham’s Alex Cochrane and Wrexham substitute Paul Mullin clashed in the 80th minute.

An independent regulatory commission decided that Wrexham should be fined £3,750 following the incident, while Birmingham were handed the standard penalty of £2,500.

An FA spokesperson said both clubs “admitted that they failed to ensure their players did not behave in an improper and provocative way”.
