Lanes reopen after M1 crash in Leicestershire

All lanes have reopened following a crash on the M1 in Leicestershire.

National Highways said the collision happened on a northbound stretch of road between junction 20 for Lutterworth and junction 21 near Leicester on Tuesday morning.

Two of three lanes were closed and drivers were warned there was about seven miles (11km) of congestion, with delays of up to 90 minutes.

But at 08:38 GMT, it said recovery and “collision clear-up work” was complete and drivers were urged to allow up to an extra hour for their journeys.
