James Bond book bought at car boot sells for £10k at auction

A James Bond book which was bought for £1 at a car boot sale has sold for more than £10,000 at auction.

The book, which is a rare first edition of the 1953 Ian Fleming debut James Bond novel Casino Royale, was purchased by a 48-year-old woman in North Yorkshire.

The book, one of only 4,750 copies ever printed, was sold on Monday in Devon for £10,100.

The novel was sold at the Adam Partridge saleroom in Hele to a telephone bidder.
