Inverness Caledonian Thistle 0-1 Raith Rovers: Dundee United made to wait for Scottish Championship title

Raith Rovers secured a narrow win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle that will keep Dundee United waiting to celebrate the Scottish Championship title.

Lewis Vaughan’s neat finish from Euan Murray’s flick shortly after the break was enough for the second-top visitors.

Caley Thistle were left to rue a Cammy Harper first-half strike off the bar and Kevin Dabrowski’s brilliant follow-up save from the left-back.

Alex Samuel, Danny Devine and James Carragher also struck the woodwork.

That and a couple more fine Dabrowski saves denied Duncan Ferguson’s side an equaliser as they are left third-bottom, two points ahead of Queen’s Park, who visit Dunfermline Athletic on Saturday.

Rovers move to within three points of leaders United, who will nevertheless all but secure the title should they defeat Ayr United because of their vastly superior goal difference.

Raith Rovers manager Ian Murray: “It’s a great win, our second up here this season. Credit to Inverness, I thought they played well.

“Dundee United are heavy favourites to win the league with that goal difference. This is a really hard league to win. We just need to keep the pressure on them.”
