A Love Island winner has spoken of the closeness he feels with people when he returns to Merthyr Tydfil.

“People do back each other and we do have that close community, and I think not many places have that,” said Liam Reardon told BBC Radio Wales at Cyfarthfa Castle in the town.

Reardon won the TV show in 2021 alongside his partner Millie Court.

“I’m more myself when I’m in Wales, in my hometown,” he said.
