Girl, four, in critical condition after being hit by car in Glasgow

A four-year-old girl is in critical condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Glasgow.

The accident involving a BMW X1 happened on Tantallon Road in the city’s Shawlands at about 09:00.

Emergency crews attended and the road was briefly closed while the girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children, where she remains.

Sgt Ally Wright said inquiries into the incident were ongoing, but urged anyone who witnessed it to get in touch.
