George Brown: Leeds Rhinos half-back out for five months with knee injury

Leeds Rhinos head coach Brad Arthur has said half-back George Brown may not feature again this year because of a knee injury.

The 19-year-old has made four appearances for the Rhinos this season.

“Poor kid. He’s had an operation and it could be quite lengthy. They’re’ talking four or five months and I’m not sure if he’ll play again this year,” he told BBC Radio Leeds.

“There’s certainly no rush with it and we want to make sure we rehab him properly.”

Arthur added: “He can work on other areas of his game, he can start to put a bit of work into his upper body and get a bit thicker and stronger.

“If he was 30-odd and getting to the end of his career you might take a few chances but he’s young and has a lot of time in front of him.”
