Garden shed helping players prepare for World Cup

Players representing both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland have been fine-tuning their skills in a garden shed in Londonderry ahead of the Subbuteo World Cup.

The Subbuteo World Cup is taking place in Royal Tunbridge Wells, which is where the game was invented back in 1946 by Peter Adolph.

Popular in the 1970s and 80s, the table-top game sees competitors take turns to flick miniature models of football players around a replica stadium in an attempt to push a ball into a goal.

More than 26 nations are expected to be represented at the event which takes place over four days and hoping to impress from Derry City Table Football Club are Martin Óg Bradley, Oisín Mór and Lawrence Watson.
