Firefighters leave scene after blaze in six-storey building in Glasgow

Firefighters were alerted to the blaze shortly after 16:30 on Saturday

Firefighters have left the scene after a blaze broke out in a six-storey commercial building in Glasgow city centre.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said seven appliances and specialist resources responded to the incident on West Nile Street at 16:31 on Saturday.

A spokesperson said there were no casualties after a full building evacuation was carried out.

BBC Scotland has asked Police Scotland for comment.

Members of the public had been asked to keep away from the area and nearby residents were advised to close windows and doors to prevent smoke inhalation.
