Robinson first went to Durham on loan in 2022 to play in the T20 Blast before making it permanent ahead of the 2023 season.
He struck three centuries as his new team won Division Two and hit two more last summer in Division One, including a career-best 198 against Essex.
He was on England Lions’ tour of India last winter, and he went to New Zealand as a late replacement for the injured Jordan Cox on the recent tour.
“I took a bit of a calculated gamble moving away from home when I first moved to Durham a couple of seasons ago, but I had an idea of the plans and the environment I was joining, and to date it’s worked out well.
“I wanted more stability and the opportunity to develop my skills further, and that is exactly what I got here, in this team.
“It’s been great that I’ve been able to show some of what I can do, and as a result, it was nice to get some international recognition recently.”
Durham’s director of cricket, Marcus North, added: “His performances since joining have shown that he is one of the country’s best wicket-keeper batters, which was acknowledged by his recent England Men’s Test call-up for the New Zealand tour.”
