Dom Hyam: Wrexham to ‘stick together’ after Hull setback, says defender

Defeat to the Tigers saw Wrexham slip to 14th in the Championship table, although the Red Dragons are just four points adrift of the play-off places after 20 league matches of the campaign.

And Hyam feels the club’s season as a whole so far should give Wrexham enough confidence to put things right when they return to action against Watford at the Stok Cae Ras on Saturday (15:00 GMT).

“We’ve been on a really good run, we’ve got to add some perspective as well, we’ve come up from the division below and we’ve done well up until this point,” added the 29-year-old.

“Don’t get me wrong, we’re still bitterly disappointed with that tonight but it’s a good opportunity to get it right on Saturday.

“That’s the beauty of the league, we’ve got a game in three days’ time. We know there’s a big opportunity on Saturday in front of our home supporters to put things right.

“It’s not doom and gloom by any means. It’s very raw, that performance wasn’t great on a lot of levels, but there’s a lot to be positive about still.

“We’ll take our medicine and make sure we’re right again.”
