Sussex have re-signed spin bowler Danny Briggs from Warwickshire on a three year-deal which will take effect at the end of the 2025 season.

He returns to Sussex in a player-coach role after five years away, having previously appeared for them between 2016 and 2020 and will be available for the T20 Blast.

The 34-year-old is the competition’s leading wicket taker with 246, including 29 in helping the Bears to last season’s quarter-final.

“I’m really looking forward to coming back to Sussex, it’s a really talented and exciting squad playing some great cricket,” Briggs said.

“Hopefully I can help contribute to plenty of wins and trophies along the way. Hove is a special ground and I can’t wait to return.”

Briggs began his career at Hampshire, he played a key role in their run to six successive Finals Days between 2010 and 2016.
