Cymru Premier: Game plan tweak behind Penybont’s TNS win

Penybont have claimed 20 points from their opening eight league fixtures and are now the only unbeaten side remaining in Welsh domestic football’s top-flight.

And TNS boss Harrison admits his side did not deserve to claim all three points against league leaders Penybont.

“We try to win every game, so there’s disappointment of course,” Harrison told Sgorio.

“We definitely didn’t deserve to win the game, maybe a draw might have been a fair reflection but Penybont came out the first 30 minutes and had a right go.

“After that we mainly controlled the game but without really causing a massive problem.

“I’ll have a look back at it and reflect, then it’s up to us and the lads to look at ourselves as well, we’ll all own it.”

Griffiths did not celebrate veteran striker Venables’ late winner against the Saints.

And the Bont head coach says his thoughts swiftly turned to 16-year-old fan Brendan Moore who passed away earlier this month when Venables netted.

“I didn’t celebrate the goal,” he added. “Quite honestly, what went through my head in that moment was Brendan Moore, a young lad who died last weekend, a supporter of the club.

“He’s not someone I knew particularly well but it just struck a chord with me.”
