Coleraine: Two men injured in ‘racially-motivated’ assault

Two men have been injured, with one requiring hospital treatment, in a “racially-motivated” assault in Coleraine, County Londonderry, police have said.

Officers were called to the Railway Road area at about 23:10 BST on Sunday evening following reports of a fight involving a number of men.

According to police, two men were assaulted during the altercation and it was reported that they were also subjected to alleged racist abuse.

One man was said to have been punched in the face, while the second was allegedly struck on the side of the head and kicked in the stomach, with one of the victims later attending hospital for treatment for his injuries.
