Coal tip landslip: Trees were coming down the road in Storm Bert

A woman living on a hill affected by a landslip caused by a coal tip has described trees and boulders being carried down the road.

People in Cwmtillery, Blaenau Gwent, had to leave their homes to stay in a leisure centre on Sunday night after torrential rain in Storm Bert.

Dianne Morgan, who has lived in a house at the top of Upper Gwastad Terrace for 10 years, said she saw slurry running down the road and trees crashing into cars.

She called efforts to clean up after the flooding inadequate.

The council has been asked to comment.
