Hampshire’s Chris Wood has signed a new contract until the end of the 2026 season.

The 35-year-old left-arm seamer and right-handed batsman is the club’s leading T20 wicket-taker, playing 189 matches and taking 208 wickets at an average of 25.33.

Wood – who has been at Hampshire since 2010 – was part of the Hawks’ T20 winning sides in 2010, 2012 and 2022.

On Friday he will continue to be a part of Hampshire’s bid to claim another title as they take on Durham in the Blast quarter finals.

“We’ve been playing some great cricket recently,” Wood said, external after signing.

“With the quarter-finals up next in the Blast and 2026 just around the corner, it’s really exciting to continue with Hampshire.

“The club has shown great faith in me, and I feel I’ve still got a big part to play in the team, and look forward to helping us build on our recent success.”
